History: The town of Alderson was originally served by a bookmobile provided by the West Virginia Library Commission. In 1977, the community began a drive to develop a permanent library, and successfully dedicated the new facility in September of that year. After a devastating flood in 1985, the library was eventually moved to its current location 5 years later.
